What is it?

GNDR - Forward Together  is the consultation process being undertaken with all registered full members to gather feedback and ideas that will shape the future direction and organisation of the Global Network. It started with an online discussion open to all members from July 2011 and will be supported by a series of Regional Workshops to be held between January and April 2012.  The aim is to enable members to:

1.    Offer their reflections on achievements so far, particularly from a local perspective

2.    Identify possible activities that are missing, or that need to be changed

3.    Participate in the wider thinking about what the network does and how it should be organized

By June 2012 our aim is to have established a clear GNDR global strategy for 2012-2015 to help guide future activities and development.

How can I take part?

If you are a registered full member of the network you will receive the discussion emails. If you are not registered you can do so by clicking here.  If you have any problems please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

What has been happening so far?

  • Since July 2011, GNDR members have been offering reflections on achievements so far, identifying improvements and sharing ideas on the future direction and structure of the network.

  • These ideas have helped guide the formulation of a draft global GNDR strategy for 2012-2015 that was shared with members in December for further consideration.

  • On January 20-21, 2012 the GNDR steering group worked in Delhi to develop this strategy and identify the future structure required to enhance our impact.

forward_together_frontpage"Whether it is by email in our online discussion, or in person at one of our regional workshops, I would encourage all members to take your opportunity to share your thoughts, challenges and ideas on our future development through the Forward Together process.

As a network we have achieved a lot in a short space of time.  But there is much more to be done.  Let’s share our ideas and move forward together to increase the impact of the Global Network and enable civil society to connect local to global and speak with a collective voice that drives action to reduce risk and increase resilience."
